Ever since I first saw the Lottie Dolls, I thought they were so brilliant. As a mother of three girls, I have never felt totally comfortable with the dolls on the market. Finally, a doll which looks like a real child, with a realistic face and body, no makeup and clothes nine-year-old girls actually wear. Even better, the dolls have hobbies and interests which reflect those of my girls. You can get a fossil collector, and a star gazer, a footballer and an ice princess. I knew exactly which doll would be perfect for us: Always Artsy Lottie. This doll is perfect for any little girl who loves to show their creative side.
The Lottie doll is slightly smaller than I was expecting, but then I suppose she is meant to be a child. She has posable arms and legs and is a lovely size for taking with you. The Always Artsy doll comes with some really lovely accessories. There is a little easel, with some real children’s artwork from the competition they held on it, some pots of paint and a brush and paint palette.

I love the styling of this doll. She is clearly modelled on one of my favourite movie icons: Audrey Hepburn and I love the chic Parisian feel of her clothes and hair.

It is lovely to have a doll with a bob, most dolls have long hair which doesn’t match the fact that so many young girls wear shorter styles.

As you can see, this doll just matches my girls perfectly. Charlotte really enjoyed setting up Lottie’s easel and working alongside her.

She even found some clothes so she could match Lottie’s style. I love the fact that the blurb on the website and box encourages a growth mindset. It says, “My pictures don’t always turn out quite the way that I was expecting. Yet. But being bold, getting creative and experimenting with different styles is always fun.”

The Always Artsy doll costs £21.99 including all the accessories. This would be a lovely present for a little girl, maybe with a couple of pots of paint and canvases.

We were also sent the picnic accessory set. This sweet little set would go with any of the Lottie dolls and works very well with always artsy as she can stop for a picnic and do some painting at the same time. The set costs £9.50 and you get a pretty picnic blanket, a basket as well as two plates and two strawberry cupcakes. What a lovely picnic after a long day painting!
