Are you already hearing the dreaded…..‘I’m BORED!!!!!’
It might only be the middle of the summer holidays but our little ones (and me) are getting a bit fed up some days. Whilst there are many activities and summer clubs you can do, it can a get a bit expensive. Even a trip to the beach or park can start costing if you buy drinks or snacks when you are out and about too.
However we at HCTG have been lucky enough to have been given these fabulous Collins’ puzzle books to help us beat the boredom. And it’s not just the long days that the puzzle books can help with, they are great to pop in your bag and take to a restaurant or on a long car or plane journey. So whether you are holidaying at home or abroad these great puzzle books can really help.
We were given four different Solve It! books; Number Games, Brain Games, Guess the Word and Word Games.
Guess the Word is inspired by ’Wordle’ and is great for siblings in the back of the car, at a restaurant or anywhere. Whilst the puzzles are aimed at ages 8 and over we found it was really fun to play with our nearly 6 year old to help her literacy. We also found that the Word Games book was great for this too – although the puzzles are aimed at older children there are a few that with a bit of help she could do or at least enjoy having a go at.
The Brain Games were great for all the family and a healthy competition started between mum and dad too. I must confess though as a lover of number puzzles, I really enjoyed the Number Games, I also thought these were a great introduction for kids to number puzzles, such as simple sudoku, number patterns and code breaking. You can explore the Solve it! Range for yourselves at https://collins.co.uk/collections/solve-it
We aren’t just keeping these for ourselves either, our partners at Collins are offering four Solve it! puzzle books to one of our lucky readers! Tell us in the comments why you could use a set of puzzle books or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll put all the answers into a prize draw on the 29th August. The books will only be posted to mainland UK addresses and will be sent by our partners. Only one entry per person. When the prize draw has been made we will contact the winning entry for the postal address. Good Luck and enjoy the holidays!
