The Perfect (indoor) Picnic

Well this week I planned to have the perfect picnic as it is the half term holidays. Unfortunately it has rained non stop so I have given up waiting and have planned an indoor picnic instead.

Perfect picnic

This is a great rainy day activity if the kids are bored. Lunch is suddenly fun again. Although to be honest the girls love having a picnic so much that they do not actually need real food. Often we get out the pay food. Lay a blanket down and they can spend hours playing at preparing and eating their picnic.

All it takes is a few blankets on the floor, a few teddies and some lunch – which always tastes better on a picnic blanket whether inside or out.

The girls like a picnic with lots of things to dip. Lots of vegetables and fruit cut into slices with hummus, cheese spread to dip and yogurt for the fruit.

We also made some pretty pink cupcakes for a tasty treat to finish.

Perfect picnic

Hopefully we will be able to have a proper outdoor picnic at the weekend.
