The Contented Pig by Daniel Tidbury

We were lucky enough to receive a copy of Daniel Tidbury’s childrens book the Contented Pig.

It is his debut book and is filled with charming illustrations which he has done himself, which will come of no surprise when you learn that Daniel is primarily an artist. Living and working on the south coast in England Daniel has turned his hand to creating children’s books. You can find his work at danieltidbury.co.uk.

What’s The Book About?

The story is of a little pig who longs for a nice warm coat like his farmyard friends. It is a subtle tale of finding comfort and pride in your own skin, a much needed message in today’s society.

According to an interview with Focus Magazines, the story started as a make as you go along story with his own children at bedtime.

What We Liked About The Contented Pig Book

We had great fun reading the book and both our girls enjoyed the fun pictures.

A fairly quick read kept both our 2 year old and 5 year old engaged and there were squeals of delight at the last page. “Again! Again!” was heard many times. It is also a great size, to slip into your handbag to keep children entertained when out for dinner or on a journey.

The Book Is Suitable For Early Readers

The language was simple enough that our 5 year old could have a good go at reading the book herself, which she has, many times!

A great little stocking filler for toddlers and early readers. You can order your copy from Daniel’s website for £3.99.

We are all looking forward to Daniel’s next book and cannot wait to see what wonderful pictures and tales he will imagine next.
