Kings Camps: Inspiring Children Through Sport

Kings Camps

Are you looking for fun activities to keep your children entertained over the long Summer holidays? It’s hard to organise childcare if you are working and you want something which they will enjoy but will also teach them some new skills. Kings Camps seem the perfect option. A fun and sporty Summer camp where they can try lots of different sports in lovely surroundings.

Kings CampsThere are lots of different options but we are going to text the MultiActivity Kids Club. The children enjoy lots of different sports as well as team building activities and lots of dance and songs. It sounds amazing. Some of my best memories from childhood are of Summer camps and I’m delighted that Molly can have this too.

Kings Camps

Each day ends with a certificate ceremony and the end of the week there is a VIKINGS event to share their achievements with the parents. It sounds amazing. There are 50 camps situated around the country at leading independent schools and universities.

Come back in the Summer to see how we got on.

How to make a Grass Maze

One of our favourite outdoor activities is to make things using freshly mown grass. Luckily none of the girls have hay fever so they are happy to play in the fields behind our house. There is nothing more lovely than the smell of grass which has just been cut and is drying in the sun.

When I was little I always made nests from the grass. The girls like to make them too.

Their favourite thing is for me to make them a grass maze. We just pile the grass into heaps and make it into different shapes.

Then they run around it.

It’s such a simple activity but so much fun. How to make a Grass Maze

They like to do this as races and see who can get to the end first.

Usually, the maze gets broken before I can take a photo. They like to kick it apart. On this day we got really cross because someone let their dog run all over it while we were still building.

I like the fact it is such a collaborative activity. The girls work together to help make the maze then to go round it.

This was one of my favourite days from last Summer before the twins were in school full time. Just looking at these pictures makes me happy. This is definitely on our list for this Summer.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Threading

The very hungry caterpillar

I have always loved threading. It is brilliant for developing fine motor skills and hand eye coordination and a great precursor to learning to sew. The only problem is that for little fingers holding a thread can be really tricky. It’s just to bendy to put it through a tiny hole. Of course that is … Read more

Gruffalo Craft Activity For Kids

gruffalo craft for kids

We love Julia Donaldson books and The Gruffalo is definitely top of the list. It’s such a wonderful book to read aloud and is so brilliant for getting kids to join in.
