Transform Your Daughters Hair to Look Like Elsa from Frozen (step-by step tutorial)

Elsa hair transformation

Most weekends one or more of my daughters wants to dress up as a character from Frozen. Elsa, with her magical powers is usually their favourite and I often have requests for me to give them “Elsa hair”. We put together a little vlog to show how we do it.

We were sent the Disney Frozen Shampoo, Conditioner as well as the Detangler from Sainsburys. We loved all three. They smelt wonderful and were a bargin at only £1.60. Of course the main thing was that the girls all wanted to use the products which made bath time much easier.

I was really impressed with the end results after using these products. They made the children’s hair really soft and silky and there were definitely less tangles. I would buy these products again.

Here is our vlog to show you what we did.

This hairstyle is really easy and would work well for school or for a special event. Mostly it is great for climbing a mountian and singing at the top of your voice while the storm rages around you. If that’s your cup of tea.

Olaf Pumpkin Craft

Olaf pumpkin

There was only one possible choice for our Halloween pumpkin this year. The girls’ favourite character from any film was the loveable Olaf from Disney’s Frozen and he lends himself perfectly to a pumpkin creation. I’m pretty sure there are other Olaf pumpkins around, but I haven’t seen any yet and I haven’t wanted to … Read more

Elsa Frozen Play Dough

The twins are totally addicted to watching Youtube videos of people making play dough dresses for their dolls. Last week they enjoyed playing with some princess play dough and using it to make dresses for their dolls. It was inevitable that they would ask for some Disney Frozen play dough. Frozen is their current favourite movie and anything Frozen themed is bound to be a big hit.

Elsa’s Transformation

The girls loved the part of the film where Elsa transforms into a snow Queen. I thought some sparkly blue play dough would work well. They could make Elsa a beautiful snow Queen dress.

Home made play dough

I had Sleeping Beauty help me make the play dough. She was rather trigger happy with the glitter but other than that did a good job.

We made some blue play dough using blue food colouring and a looooooooot of glitter.

We also made some white play dough and added silver glitter.

For decoration we used:

  • Elsa Magiclip doll
  • silver balls for cake decorating
  • crystals
  • sequins
  • buttons
  • ribbons
Frozen decorations

The other girls were poorly and this was a great activity to keep Rose busy as we were stuck inside.

Playing with play dough

Of course you also need the Frozen soundtrack to play in the background. This activity really needs the dulcet tones of “Let it go!” in the background. I’m sure you haven’t heard it enough times yet.

We made this play dough at the weekend and the girls have played with it for at least an hour each day. I know a lot of people don’t like play dough because of the mess but really five minutes tidying up afterwards is worth it for the hour of peace and quiet it gives you.

Elsa dress play dough

I used a chopping board covered in tin foil for the girls to do the play dough on. This looks cold and icy and has the added advantage that you can throw it away with all the little bits in one go.

Rose had to have her own transformation and decided to change into her Anna costume.

The play dough also makes a lovely bed for sleep overs with the other princesses too.

We also added some dark blue glitter to one ball of play dough and this made a slightly darker dress.

Queen Elsa from Frozen

To go with this we have been making a cardboard ice palace for the girls to play with. It’s almost dry and then I can show you how it’s turned out.

Elsa and Anna from Frozen

We also used our letter cookie cutters to make letters to spell out Frozen.

This was our princess play dough from last week (I can’t link at the moment as I’m having problems with WordPress – but you can find it through the homepage)

My girls played with this princess play dough for over two hours. It was such a fun sensory activity.
