It’s revision time again. Students across the country have their heads buried in their books, highlighters at the ready. I think the best way to approach revision is to try lots of different techniques and find one which suits you. One website which might help is Education Quizzes. On this website, you can find quizzes written by teachers about every area of the curriculum and for children in Key Stage One right up to GCSE.
This is a great way to test your knowledge and see which areas you need to revise. It would be a good way to start a new revision topic or to do at the end to test your knowledge. It would definitely make a good break from taking notes.
The site is really easy to navigate and I was really impressed with the range of quizzes for each subject. Each quiz is made up of ten questions and supportive notes are provided at the end of each question. There are a few quizzes you can access free of charge. Subscription costs £7.50 a month and can be cancelled at any time. If you bookmarked this website then you could come back to it during revision times for a couple of months every year. Schools are also able to sign up their pupils for a reduced cost which can be as little as £2 depending on the number of pupils using the site.
I took a look at the education quizzes for Key Stage Two. I can see these would be really useful if you are learning facts such as times tables or if you are learning grammar terminology like which part of a sentence is a verb.
There is even a section for English as a Second Language. This would be great for EAL pupils who often struggle with learning subject specific vocabulary. If you are studying for the 11 Plus then there is a section of quizzes for this as well.
If you are looking for a way to test your knowledge and to help revise then have a look at Education Quizzes. I wish there had been more fun ways to revise when I was at school. I would have loved being able to test my knowledge using a website like this. It would give me a great deal of confidence knowing that I had answered the questions correctly. Confidence goes a long way to being successful during exams and Test Week.
