Top of our Autumn bucket list, is always a trip to the Pumpkin Spooktacular at Hatton Country World. It is a wonderful day out at any time of year but we particularly love it during pumpkin week when there are so many spooky activities.
We always start our day feeding the animals. The food costs £1 and one tub is enough for all three girls. You need to be careful checking which animals can eat the feed as it makes some poorly.
The adorable donkeys were really friendly and wanted lots of attention.
There are lots of fun things to ride on and play with throughout the park. The ride on tractors are always a big hit.
Charlotte’s favourite thing at Hatton Country World is getting to hold the guinea pigs. They are really placid and there are lots of attendants around to help you.
It was hard getting the girls to leave as they loved holding the guinea pigs so much.
Hatton looks lovely in Autumn
We come to Hatton a lot! There are piles of pumpkins everywhere and there is a Halloween trail you can follow. If you write down all the words on the pumpkins then you win a prize at the end.
Pumpkin Patch at Hatton Country World is amazing.
There are bouncy slide and bouncy castles, trampolines and three fairground rides. I like the fact you don’t have to pay any extra to go on the rides. The rides are gentle enough that younger children can go on alone. The attendants are really kind and will stop if it a child is upset.
The teacups are always lots of fun.
The reason we love Hatton Country World at this time of year is a trip to the Pumpkin Patch. It really makes a trip so special as every child gets to pick a pumpkin to take home.
The pumpkin patch looked really beautiful and wasn’t very muddy this year. There were plenty of pumpkins to choose from.
Charlotte had to go round the entire field shouting “choose wisely,” and cackling like a witch.
The girls took a long time to find the perfect pumpkin. You don’t want to rush such an important decision.
The pumpkin patch is a lovely place to take a group photo. For some reason, the girls always have to put the pumpkins on their head for a photo. I have no idea why.
After that, we warmed up with a trip to the indoor play barn and some cups of hot chocolate and Halloween cupcakes. Even if it is raining, there is lots to do at Hatton Country World. There is a puppet and magic show as well as special events like spooky stories told by a witch. A trip to the soft play area is included in the price and there are lots of exciting slides, tunnels and rope swings.
A trip to Hatton is not complete without a tractor ride. At Halloween, this has a spooky feel. At certain times there are actors on the route chasing the tractor. The girls had built this up to be really terrifying and were a bit nervous about going on the ride, but found it lots of fun.
You definitely need to wrap up warm at this time of year.
The tractor ride is a lovely way to finish as we got a beautiful view of the fields at Hatton with the sun setting. The end of a brilliant family day out.
