It all went wrong with my review of the Poppy Cat figures and Plush doll from Golden Bear. I was planning on letting the twins have a little play with the new toys and then when they had moved on to something else and put them away for Christmas. A bit sneaky perhaps but Santa needs all the help he can get this year! Unfortunately Charlotte had other ideas and I have been unable to sneak the toys away from her as I don’t think she’s let go of them for a minute!
I can see why Poppy Cat is such a friendly character with a lovely smiley face. The Plush Toy is the perfect size for a toddler and is suitable from birth. She is really cuddly and when you give her a big squeeze says some of the phrases from the TV show.
As you can see Poppy Cat has gone everywhere with us. Usually Charlotte likes teddies, but isn’t that worried about taking them with her. This one must be a favourite!
We almost had a disaster though, as we left Poppy behind when we went to see Night Garden. Luckily someone had found her and handed her in. Phew!
At under ten pounds I think this is a lovely present for a Poppy cat fan.
The Poppy cat character set is a four piece figure set including Poppy Cat, Alma, Zuzu and Owl. The girls all love small world play and these friendly little fellas fit in perfectly. I love the way they encourage role play and speaking and listening. They are well made and seem very sturdy – great for active toddlers. They bend in the middle and can sit down, which the girls loved as they can sit and have a picnic.
Again these cost around £10 and I think that is reasonable for a set of mini figures who will be a friendly addition to the toy cupboard.
So what about poor old Santa? Well I guess he had better get those elves working on something pretty quick!
