Have you started to prepare for Christmas yet? I know it’s still early to even think about it but it always gets to December 1st and I suddenly realise it is already advent and I haven’t bought a calendar yet. Therefore it’s a good idea to get one early. Last year we tested a playmobil advent calendar and it was really lovely. So we were excited to be sent one for this year.

This year we were sent the Playmobil Unicorn Fairyland Advent Calendar. This is great as we have a few pieces in the unicorn fairies series already. The advent calendar is really bright and colourful with a picture of the unicorn fairies on the front and numbers to find each door to open. It also comes with a cardboard background scene so that you can make a world as you open each door on the calendar.

We opened a couple of the doors to have a sneaky peak at the goodies inside. The toys are full sized Playmobil figures with a unicorn theme. There is also a pretty heart shaped jewellery case which I’m sure will be a bit hit when it’s opened.

The figures are beautifully detailed, with glittering fairy wings and golden tiaras and crowns. There are three fairy figures in the advent calendar as well as unicorn foal, peacock, deer, owl, foxes, rabbits, butterflies, flowers, fairy lantern, and other accessories. These go together to create a lovely fairy world which you can play with long after Advent has finished.

The Advent calendar costs £18.99 and is suitable for children aged 4-10. It is a really lovely set which be a big hit for children who love fairies. I can’t wait for December to start opening the calendar for real. At least I won’t be spending December 1st rushing around trying to find an advent calendar this year.
