The New Year marks a time of change. Millions of people come up with New Year resolutions that they hope they can stick to throughout the year. Whether it’s to lose weight, quit smoking, cook more or get out more; most resolutions involve looking and feeling better.
If you’re hoping to feel better about yourself this upcoming year, why not consider redoing you and your family’s wardrobe?
Kitting out your family’s wardrobes for the New Year will help you to feel like you’re starting again. A New Year and a new look, what more could you ask for?
First things first – organise the wardrobes
The first thing you need to do before you go shopping for new clothes is to sort out your wardrobe. For each member of the family, sort out which clothes need to go and which can stay.
As a general rule, if something hasn’t been worn for a year then it can go. The only exceptions to this rule are if it’s a vintage item or if it’s got sentimental value.
Anything that doesn’t fit right or that doesn’t make you feel fabulous should definitely go. Your kid’s wardrobes are likely going to be packed with plenty of clothes that don’t fit. Once you’ve gotten rid of everything you don’t need, you can focus on buying new clothes.
What should you buy?
Whether you’re shopping for womenswear, menswear or kids wear, you need to focus on a few mains things: price, comfort, season, wearability and size.
The price will obviously play a large part too but the great thing about buying clothing in the New Year is the fact it’s often on sale. If you are looking to save money, make sure you invest in the sales all year round.
While you’ll obviously want to focus on buying winter clothes for the current cold weather, you should also focus on spring/summer. Shopping around early for each season can help you to save quite a lot of money.
Some of the key pieces to invest in include jumpers, jeans, t-shirts and anything that can be layered. The layered look is great all year round. You can add more layers in winter when it’s cold and take off layers in summer if you get too hot.
The right clothing can really help you to feel 100% better about yourself. Kitting your family’s wardrobes out for the New Year will help to give you the fresh start that you need and ensure your family are putting their most fashionable feet forward in 2014.
