Inexpensive Ways To Redo Your House

If you just moved into a new home, or if you have lived in a home for a long period of time, you may have to do so on a budget. If you are a DIYer at heart or are learning to become one, then you are well on your way to being able to do some great remodeling in your home without breaking the bank.

If you plan it out just right and learn to do the work on your own, then you can completely transform rooms in your home for only a few hundred dollars compared to a few thousand that it would cost should you buy all new fancy upgrades and hire people to do it for you. Below are some things you can do like painting your own rooms, buying big pieces of furniture, and using area rugs. You might need to talk to someone about finding and installing cute interior barn doors for sale.

These are things that you can do or add that will help you improve the look and how well your home functions without causing your wallet to scream.

Make Your Cabinets Pop

Updating the custom kitchen cabinets will be one of the most common trends that we will start to see more of in 2020. Whether you decide on a new color or a whole different door design, we are certain changes to the cabinets will create an added value that will last well into the future.

Do a paint job

You don’t have to start knocking down walls or build something up to add dimension and depth to a room in your home. All you need is a gallon of good paint and some brushes to turn your washed-out walls into something colorful and full of depth. A good coat of paint goes a long way and can turn your one-dimensional plain walls into a piece of art that draws the eye in and adds an interesting, modern look to your home.

Cheat with easy crown molding

Crown molding is one of the most important things that you want to do in your home when you start renovating it. Crown molding is seemingly small, but it can take your home from looking like a plain structure to looking like a cozy, charming home. However, installing traditional crown molding can take weeks of measuring, sawing, and installing, and can cost thousands of dollars. There is something known as Trimroc molding which is a lightweight piece of foam that is coated by hard plaster. It gets cut easily with handsaws and there are no tricky angles or ragged joints that you have to worry about. It takes maybe a day or two to do an entire room and turn it from something plain to a room that is elegant and warm.

Stair runners

Do you have stairs that are hard and slick and cause you concern? You want a way to make your stairs not as slick and keep people from falling down them and getting hurt, but you also do not have the funds to install all new carpets or get all new finishes on the stairs to make them safer. A great solution is to install a DIY stair runner. Get some woven runners at your local fabric store and install them on your stairs and you have an instant non-slip staircase that not only keeps people safe but looks good as well.

Give new life to old flooring in your house

Getting all new flooring options, whether it be all the way through your house or in just one room, can be incredibly expensive and take your entire budget. However, you may paint a room and give it a new life and be left with old flooring that completely detracts from your hard work. Putting in a little elbow grease and getting down on the floor with a high-quality paintbrush and durable floor paint can go a long way. Durable floor paint can give your floors a whole new personality and a brand new life without coming with a huge price tag.

Give your kitchen cabinets a makeover

Your kitchen may be looking dark and outdated even after you put in a new floor and do a nice paint job all because your cabinets are dark, greasy, and old. However, you do not necessarily need to buy all new cabinets in order to make this happen which can cost thousands of dollars. All you need is some strong paint remover/cleaner, good sandpaper, and some paint. You will have a finished look that looks like brand new beautiful cabinets.
