May is a lovely month. There are days of unexpectedly good weather and it is the perfect time to get out in the garden. The girls love playing outside and it is great to mix things up with some new toys. They were delighted to be sent some new things to play with from Mega Bloks. I set all the new things up outside and then called them. They were so excited to see them.
The only problem was choosing what to play with first.
Mega Bloks First Builders Lil Vehicles
We were sent a range of lil vehicles to review. These are priced around £9.99 which seem a great price for a really well made and fun toy. The vehicles are brightly coloured with lovely happy faces and each come with a cute character to drive them. They also have a boot full of Mega Bloks to encourage building.
The vehicles are all made for ages 1-5. They are great toys to buy as a present as there is such a long time for the children to play with them. My six year old also loved to play with these toys which shows their appeal.
We made a road out for the vehicles using some chalk and the vehicles built some houses as they went along. It was great for stimulating the girls imaginations and their games were so creative. I was a bit worried about how well the toys would last outside but the plastic is very tough and durable and there were no scuffs after a good couple of hours playing outside.
I love the fact there is a variety of vehicles to appeal to boys and girls. The twins started with the pink vehicles but didn’t stay with them for long and were soon playing happily with all the toys.
Mega Bloks First Builders Play n Go Wagon
This would be a great starter set for a baby or toddler. It costs £29.99 and has everything you would need to get building, including a range of brightly coloured bricks.
The twins loved pulling the wagon along on its chunky wheels and it is a brilliant way to bring along your toys. It would be great for encouraging your little one to get mobile if they are at the walking stage. You could take this along to a relatives for the day and they would have enough toys to keep them busy.
Mega Bloks First Builders Build n Splash
This was the girls’ favourite toy. They love playing with water and it is so much fun to take a toy like this in the garden. Our water table has broken so I just used a washing up bowl for them to play with.
This set is meant for in the bath. It has suction pads so you could stick it on the side of the bath but I think it is perfect for playing with outside. Everything can be stored on in the blue box which is really handy. This toy costs £14.99 which is a brilliant price for a present and will give the children hours of fun.
Once you have built a tower you pour the water into the top and it makes the friendly characters spin around. This is something children find fascinating and can repeat many times.
The girls took it in turns to pour water in the top and then catch it at the bottom.
These are all really great toys which will encourage children to play and develop their imaginations. The fact they are made of such durable plastic means they can be taken outside and enjoyed in the open air. Why not have your own “Get out and play” day this May!
