Next week we are going camping for the first time as a family. I always loved camping but taking the kids is something else and o tell you the truth I’m a bit nervous. The main worry is: will they sleep? We are going to a camp site close to home so if it all goes wrong we can come home. However I would really like camping to be a success!
The first priority is getting everyone good coats – it is British Summertime after all which means be prepared for rain. So I’ve bought a parka for me and pack-a-macks for the girls as well as boots of course. We have a large tent bought at the end of the Summer last year but never used. We also have ready beds for the girls to sleep in. These were presents for the twins’ birthday and they were very pleased with them. Hopefully this will translate into a brilliant night sleeping.
We have also started to read a selection of books about camping to get the girls used to the idea of sleeping outside.

So I guess we are prepared. Hang on a minute, we might need food…
Any seasoned campers got any good tips for a newbie?
