Family Time

As a busy mother, it recently occurred to me just how important time out to relax can be. Within this post, I’m looking at the many ways us busy mums can take time out for ourselves (even if it is midnight by the time we have a minute)!

A long soak

There’s nothing like a relaxing bath, with candles, bubbles and maybe some relaxing music in the background. Obviously, it’s not always easy to get half an hour to yourself but on that odd occasion when you do it’s the perfect opportunity and you’ll appreciate the time a lot more.

Watch a Feel Good Film

With or without the children you can kick back and relax with a good film. In fact, the upside to having the children around is that you can enjoy Disney animations and they always make you feel good. Just remember the popcorn and sweets, or wine for adult time. The only thing that could make it better is an adjustable bed or riser recliner chair from adjustamatic then I could fully relax.

A Spa Day

In an ideal world taking a day out at a luxury spa would be lovely. I’d enjoy a relaxing massage, the sauna, as well as a tranquil lunch or maybe afternoon tea with cakes and sandwiches – this would make a nice change from having to cook myself. The UK is home to many spas so there will definitely be one near you.

Do the things you love

Whether arts and crafts, baking or reading a good book taking time out to do the things you enjoy is one of the best ways to relax. Plus children usually like to get involved in the activities which mean you can all enjoy time together. One of our recent creations was a DIY phone case, as all children seem to love technology this was the perfect crafty activity.

Daily Relaxation

Every day it’s important to take 5 minutes for yourself. One way to relax is by exercising; yoga and meditation can be helpful for the body and mind – which is why they are so popular at the moment.

As well as exercise and relaxation techniques simple things can also be effective such as having a peaceful cup of tea, or coffee if you prefer. Listening to your favourite music or relaxation tracks help take the stress out of life too.

I’m sure there are many other ways to relax and it would be great to hear some of your tips.
