With Christmas a distant memory, many kids (and parents) will be looking ahead towards birthdays, and Easter, as the next event in which a customary gift or two are given. While some families don’t bother with Easter as a gift-giving occasion, others will happily spend money in the shops on chocolate Easter eggs and goodies to keep their kids amused. The Easter holidays from school can be a boring fortnight sometimes, but with the help of the Easter Bunny, the kids can still enjoy it as much as they did the Christmas break.
If you’re stuck on what to get your little girl, here are some great ideas. Rather than buying her the same old thing that you do every year (i.e. a chocolate egg), why not put together a cool basket of goodies? You don’t have to spend a fortune, but she’ll love opening it! 
Chocolate
Ok, so an Easter basket wouldn’t be complete without something chocolate-y inside it. Pop an Easter egg, some Cadbury’s Crème Eggs or a couple of Lindt chocolate bunnies in there as a sugary treat. There are some fabulous alternatives to the traditional Easter egg nowadays, so you don’t have to stick to the norm if you don’t want to.
Nightwear
Easter is a great time to update their pyjama selection and why stop there? Do they need some new boy’s or girl’s slippers or a new dressing gown? Perhaps they have had their eye on a cool onesie for a while? Take the opportunity to treat them to some new nightwear – you can pick up some great value jim-jams and boy’s and girl’s slippers from George at ASDA so you don’t have to worry about breaking the bank.
DVDs
Movies are always a winner, and a great way to pass the time when April showers are out in full force. The huge Disney hit, Frozen, has stormed the big screen over recent months, and luckily for you, it’s released on DVD on the 31st March – just in time to pop into your princess’ Easter basket!
Crafts
Keeping them occupied, particularly during the Easter holidays, can be difficult. Make it a little easier for yourself by adding some craft ideas into her gift basket, such as beads, a candle making kit or some new paints and colouring pens. When the weather isn’t behaving, these sorts of kits will keep her occupied, for sure.
Bath Goodies
Bath bombs, fizzers, toys, bubble bath – you name it, if it adds a little fun to their bathtime routine, they’ll love it.
Jewellery/Accessories
If she loves to play dress up, some jewellery, pretty hair slides or fancy dress accessories would be a great addition to an Easter basket. Plus, it needn’t cost a lot either. Necklaces, clips and bracelets can be found on the high street and elsewhere for a couple of pounds or less.
Make Easter special and give her a little treat. Plan an Easter egg hunt outside if the weather allows, with the gift basket at the end for her to find!
