Denhay Farms Breakfast Review

breakfast

This week is farmhouse Breakfast Week and I was challenged by Denhay farms to shake up my breakfasts and try some of their farmhouse products. To be honest it wouldn’t take much to shake up my breakfasts. I am very unadventurous with the most important meal of the day – mainly because about the only task I can manage first thing in the morning is pouring cereal and milk into a bowl. However to celebrate the snow and these lovely products I thought I would go all out and make a snowman themed English breakfast.

The main part of the hamper was a selection of spoilt pig sausages and Denhay bacon. I have to admit not very much bacon actually made it on to the plate. I don’t buy it very often and it really was a tasty treat. The sausages went down well too. You could tell the quality of the meat as it almost melts away. It is also reassuring to know that Spoiltpig products are produced using pork approved by Freedom Food.

I think the highlight for me was the Clarence Court Burford Brown eggs. They each have a little crown printed on the outside which is really cute. The yolks are noticeably brighter – in colour – much more orange than standard eggs and are especially tasty. To op it off we were also sent some Tracklements spicy salsa sauce. Not your usual sauce for breakfast – I’ll admit – but it did go wonderfully well with the sausage.

So for our snowman breakfast I used the egg to make hash browns for the snowman’s body  and scrambled egg snow. The nose was a tomato and the eyes were mushrooms. He was topped off with an incredibly delicious sausage hat and wrapped up warm with a bacon scarf. Yum!
