Making bracelets and wristbands is such a good craft for young children. They can have fun decorating something and then wear it on their wrist for everyone to see. Bracelet making kits are always really popular in our house and Coolbandz was no exception. The box looks really attractive and fun and they liked the idea of being able to laminate their own bracelet.
The set includes: 1 Bracelet Maker Unit, 24 pre-designed wrist band strips, 12buckles, 1 sticker sheet, 1 gems sheet, 1 adhesive tape roll, and instructions.
Using the roll of tape to laminate the bracelet is a bit tricky at first but once they have made a few then it is easy for a child in the 6+ age group to do themselves. This would be an easy craft for a birthday party or play date as there is very little mess. The box even doubles as handy storage.
The girls liked the ready printed designs and the good thing is they can match them to their outfit. You can also make your own. Once you have made the band then you clip it together. We could have done with more clips as we ran out after one session and although you can reuse them this does limit the set somewhat.
Molly particularly liked the hole punch which makes a hole through the end of the band.
This set costs around £20. I think this would most suit a family who are just beginning to do crafts together and who don’t want to make a lot of mess. As we do a lot of crafting it seemed a bit limited to me and I prefer the look of loom bands or friendship bracelets, which are also better value for money. However if you want something easy and fun with very little set up then this might be the craft for you.
