It’s that time of year again. You, know, the time to nag your children to write their Thank You cards. I think saying thank you is really important but it’s so hard to get the children away from the new toys for long enough to say thank you for them properly. This is why I love a really easy Thank You card idea. This one is simple for any child who loves to colour. A picture of themselves to colour and then send to family members. It doubles a fun reminder of the special time.

How to make Colouring In Thank You cards
All you need is a photo, a computer and som colouring pencils. We chose a photo of the girls opening a giant present. This one was good as they can each do one to send to different relatives.

Then turn it into a sketch. There are lots of different sketch app for computers or Smart Phone. The one I used this year is called QuickSqetch and is free with a watermark and very easy to use. You upload the photo and it turns it into a sketch.

Once you have the sketch you can add text. You could do this in Word or using an app or an online tool like Picmonkey. I chose Picmonkey as you can pick a font so the kids can colour in the writing too. I then printed it out and stuck it onto some card.

Then give it to your children to colour. I don’t think it matters how well they colour it in – the charm is that it is their colouring. You could also use some stickers or glitter to add a bit of extra sparkle. Of course, if the kids get bored you can also finish the colouring in yourself – so it doubles as a bit of art therapy!
