This month a new Barbie movie came out. This is perfect entertainment for any young girl who loves Barbie. Princesses, pop stars, lots of pink, cute animal friends and a lot of wish-fulfillment. What more could they want? Great for a fun treat.
The movie is about Princess Tori, played by Barbie, who dreams of leaving her royal life for the life of her favourite pop star Keira. Likewise, Keira is tired of performing and he superstar lifestyle, and dreams of becoming a real-life princess. The two find each other and magically trade places.
We were sent one of the Tori dolls to review. The costume is from the movie and is really sparkly and pretty. The dolls transform between princess and pop star and have a magical necklace that when you press it, the doll sings two songs from the film. Molly’s favourite is “Princesses wanna have fun” which she plays and sings all the time. It is based on the Cyndi Lauper pop song, so I will have to hunt down the original to play her.
The best part about the doll for little girls is you can completely transform it from a princess to a pop star. You can even change the colour of her hair.
This retails at £20 – £25 so isn’t the cheapest Barbie doll on the market. However I can see it being top of a lot of Christmas list (sorry for mentioning the C word in August)
Disclaimer: I was sent a Barbie doll and tickets to see a special screening of the Barbie movie in order to do this review.
