There is definitely a link between how you feel about your hair and how you feel in general. For the last few weeks, I’ve been really lacking confidence and it was definitely to do with my hair feeling a mess. Which is why I was delighted to be invited to a blogger evening at Andrea Beers Boutique. Although I have lived in the Midlands for about fifteen years I have never found a hairdresser I feel really happy with. I want somewhere relaxed and friendly yet which gives great results. I guess it’s what everyone wants from a hairdresser: an amazing cut and up to date style but without feeling like you are out of place and awkward. That is exactly what you get from Andrea Beers. The salon looks amazing. It is tucked away in the delightful country village of Barnt Greem, definitely somewhere I want to visit more. You wouldn’t imagine you are only fifteen minutes from Birmingham. The shopfront looks stylish and i love the window displays full of shining glass and mirror balls.
The inside of the salon looks just as good. I need that mirror ball for my bedroom! Nothing beats the friendly welcome you receive. Coming at the end of a long term at work, with a visit from Ofsted and a long staff meeting that evening I arrived feeling pretty shattered and stressed out. I soon felt relaxed and at ease.
There is a comfy area at the back where you can wait for your stylist and we were treated to champagne and a delicious cream tea. Within minutes, I was feeling pampered and spoilt and that was before I even got in the hairdressers chair.
I couldn’t wait to get started on my cut and blow dry with an Olaplex treatment. I am really struggling with my hair as it is so dry and frizzy, something I have never had a problem with before and the Olaplex is supposed to leave it really soft and shiny.
The salon is made up of lots of little areas which mean you feel really secluded and can relax and enjoy your treatment without the feeling everyone is looking at you. While you are getting your hair washing and conditioned you sit in these beauties. Comfy massage chairs which leave you totally relaxed and chilled out.
While I was relaxing, I found out a few more details about the salon. Andrea Beers Hair Salon offers city style salons in smaller town locations, providing the best service and experience possible to clients without the need to travel to a busy location and to ensure that even the small things are perfect for their clients – not just their hair. The first salon, located in Kidderminster, Worcestershire officially launched in June 2007 and has been striving for excellence since then. After continued success with this salon, Andrea, the salon owner, decided she wanted to spread her wings and find another location where the brand can continue to flourish. After looking at her client’s geographical locations and demographics, she opened the second boutique salon in Barnt Green, Birmingham three years ago to a fanfare of publicity and new customers.

After the conditioning with the Opalex treatment, my hair felt really glossy and so much shinier. I loved the big bouncy styling from my hair stylist, Amber.
I was so pleased with the final cut. I kept swishing it about as it felt so bouncy. I had only had about an inch taken off the ends but I had lots of compliments the next day. Perhaps it was because of all the swishing I was doing. It is really easy to style and a week later still looks glossy and shiny. I have noticed a big improvement in the condition and much less frizz. The best thing is I have finally found a salon I enjoy going to and come away feeling glamorous and relaxed. For the first time in a long time I had a good hair day.
